Christmas Murder Mix-Up

“I have to get rid of her now.”

After four months of a blissful marriage, Paige is devastated to overhear her husband, Cooper, say those words to his best friend. Because of a suspicious Christmas gift, a gas leak, and a home invasion, Paige’s love for Cooper is tested to the limit. Will their marriage survive the Christmas Murder Mix-up?

Holiday Pursuit
When Brianna Rockwell’s brother finds himself in danger and disappears three days before Christmas, she does everything to rescue him. Brianna dodges bullets, escapes fire, and even turns to her longtime crush for help. But the closer she gets to solving the mystery and finding her only sibling, the more desperate someone gets to silence her forever.

A HOLIDAY INTRUDER:

Kelsey Jordan prefers upcycling junk and refinishing antiques for her store in a Georgia mountains town to being the center of attention. When a robbery and an unknown benefactor shove her in the middle of a decades-old mystery, and a real estate developer and a former baseball star compete for her attention, Kelsey isn’t sure who to trust.

My Thoughts

As you know Christmas time is a time that we associate with joy and fun, but many times very hard times come at the same time.  This is a trilogy of novellas, each one centered around Christmas, each one involves a mystery and/or something tragic or frightening happening, because that’s just life.

Christmas Murder Mix-up was a great story, but unfortunately, I caught onto the main plot point within the first page.  I won’t say how, because if others don’t pick it up, then I’m not calling attention to it.  That took some of the fun away.  Other than that, it really was an intriguing and sometimes frightening story.  Poor Paige, and going through this while rejecting the Lord, who is a great source of peace when we are troubled.  But she learns and she finally calls out to Him and true to His Word, He delivered her from her trouble.

Holiday Pursuit was a unique story having to do with three people, sister and brother, Brianna and Liam and foster brother, Richard who had all been through the foster system.  There was a lot of chasing and moving around, but in the end their friendship and relationships grew in different ways.  The ending was very heart warming, not just for the “typical” ending in stories of this sort, but there was an additional good thing that happened.

A Holiday Intruder was a bit sleepier, not in a boring way, just not as much running around.  The setting was an antique shop, The Flea An’Tweak, run by Kelsey Jordan in a very peaceful, small town, but everyone knows, small towns aren’t immune to trouble.  There was an adequate amount of tension and mystery and questionable characters.

I liked the reality of not everything being perfect around Christmas, but they still had a nice Christmas.  I am not overly impressed with the tingles, electricity and other synonyms relating to physical attractions, but if people like that, it’s there in some of the stories.
